"Untitled"

So I gave up on trying to figure out a title for my first blog post. There is an enormous amount of pressure, at least in my head, to come up with some witty title that makes you think that I'm this awesome person who creative thought comes easily too. Well it doesn't. Quite the opposite actually, for me creative thought is a constant struggle. Creativity is what comes from being inspired, which is what this designed world is meant to do. When an artist makes a piece of art, they make it so that it evokes some kind of emotion within the viewer. Whether that emotion stirs in you a want to go out and change the world because the artist has shown you one of the many problems on the list of things that need changing in our world today, or you feel content with your cushioned suburban lifestyle, and feel no need to change that. Both of these extremes are emotions that are instituted by art. Art is everywhere, and we are always being influenced by it. The world we live in was designed by other designers. As a hopeful designer myself, I can only begin to recognize the hard work and creative thinking that has gone into creating the environment that we live in as a society today. I am the product of what these designers have created for me. The designers who have gone before me, have paved the way for current and future designers to continue developing society into what it needs to be. Now design of course is visual. The aesthetic of the world are what make us enjoy life. By refining what we interact with visually everyday, we as the designers feel a sense of pride in what we have created and feel the need to preserve and protect those designs. This also broadens into the others arts such as music and sculpture, which add appeal to this world through a variety of senses other than the naked eye. Now once you have experienced the thrill and satisfaction of creating something that is beautiful, you are hooked. Not only are you hooked at creating things yourself, but also to fully partaking of this designed world that you live in. Taking inspiration from it, and learning from it is how you enjoy life, as well as develop you skills to create, which is my ultimate meaning to life. That is the purpose of this blog, to combine the things that I find beautiful and interesting in this world, and put them in a place for appreciation and contemplation. Where I can inspire myself to get out there and experience this designed world, because that was the intention behind the making of it, to be enjoyed.
